Alcuin Lodge's large dining room overlooks an old fashioned bowling green on the edge of the city, but is still a mere five minute stroll into town through the charming Museum Gardens.

From Railway Station
Turn left out of the station towards the Minster. Cross the river via Landal Bridge. At the first set of traffic lights turn left on to Exhibition square. Take the next left at the lights on to Bootham. Take the 3rd left turn in to Bootham Terrace (just berore you reach the Churchill Hotel) continue until the road opens out, look right and there we stand (10mins walk)
Or turn left out of the station towards the Minster. Take your first left and follow the road
behind the station. When you see the railway bridge passing over the road, cross over
and follow the railway line down the lane. Keep going over the river, down the steps.
To your right is a flood barrier gate leading into a car park, turn left and follow the path as far as you can. Slip under the railway line left when you can and cross the road.
Follow the road in to the cul-de-sac and we are over in the left hand row of 3 houses.
(5-6 mins walk!)
The South - via A64 (avoiding city)
Travel east on the A64. Take the A1237 continue for five miles following signs to Thirsk (A19). At the roundabout that intersects the A19, turn right (York) continue for two miles. Look out for a large hotel on your left 'The Churchill'. Take the first right after the hotel, Bootham Terrace, continue until the road opens out, look right and there we stand.
The North - A19
Approaching York on the A19 proceed straight ahead. On reaching the roundabout at the outer ring road, continue for two miles. Look out for a large hotel on your left 'The Churchill'. Take the first right after the hotel, Bootham Terrace, continue until the road opens out, look right and there we stand.
The East (Hull)
After reaching York on the 1079. Turn left down the A64 section of the ring road, then take the A1237 until the A19 inter-section, turn left for York and continue for two miles. Look out for a large hotel on your left 'The Churchill'. Take the first right after the hotel, Bootham Terrace, continue until the road opens out, look right and there we stand.
