Room Facilities
DescriptionWe look forward to introducing you to our friendly family-run guest house and all that the wonderful city of York has to offer. Located in a quiet residential area, yet only 5 minutes walk from the historic bar walls, and 8 minutes walk from York Minster. Restaurants, bars and shopping, are all close at hand; we are in an ideal location for exploring York.
We pride ourselves on offering a good service combined with value-for-money prices.
All rooms are en-suite and for those that have work to do, telephone/modem sockets are available in all rooms (at reasonable rates). Copying and faxing facilities are also available and we have free wireless internet access.
We have a free car park - a big bonus for an establishment so close to the city centre!
After a day of sightseeing or work, you can enjoy a relaxing pre-dinner drink in our lounge bar, before heading for one of the many restaurants or bars in the city.
Note: prices are generally (but not always!) cheaper from Sunday night to Thursday night. In addition, York's city centre and tourist attractions are less busy midweek. If your plans are flexible, why not come midweek, when you can stay a day longer and enjoy more of what our great city has to offer!

Additional Information
DirectionsBY CAR:
We are located on Bootham (A19), approx 0.5 miles from the city centre. Look out for a footbridge crossing the road - we are close to this, opposite a very old school building. Our car park is at the rear of the property and accessed from Burton Stone Lane (this road has the 'Burton Stone' pub on the corner). About 30 yards along Burton Stone Lane, you will see a public car park on the right-hand side. Enter this car park and go through the gap in the back right-hand corner. Our parking is in the numbered spaces.
For those guests who are not familiar with York, be warned that the city centre contains pedestrian streets and one-way systems. For this reason, we strongly advise using the York Northern Ring Road (A1237) and approaching from the North. Coming into York along the A19 from this direction, (signposted Rawcliffe), we are about 20 yards before the footbridge on the left-hand side.
BY TRAIN:
To walk to us from the station takes about 10-15 minutes. On exiting York Station by the main entrance (with the taxi rank), turn left. Follow the road past the Royal York Hotel and cross straight over at the traffic lights. Go straight on and through the gate in the bar walls (city walls). Turn left and cross the river. Continue straight ahead to the next set of traffic lights. Turn left and continue to the next set of traffic lights. Turn left again into Bootham and walk until you see a footbridge crossing the road. We are on the right-hand side.
Alternatively, pay about 3 to 4 pounds for a taxi!!
