DirectionsDirections from A1 South: Continue following signs for the Metro Centre. The Team Valley Trading Estate is to the right of the motorway. Take the exit sign-posted Consett A692, Whickham B6317 and Teams. Major roundabout turn left sign-posted Whickham. This is Whickham highway B6317 which leads onto Front Street, Whickham. After two sets of traffic lights, turn right at Wine Cellar Off-License and follow road round to parking area at rear of hotel. The hotel reception is at the rear of the hotel.
Directions from A1 North and A69 (Carlisle and West Coast): Following the A1 cross over the River Tyne. Take the first slip-road left, sign posted Whickham and Swalwell. Turn right at the next roundabout and following signs for Whickham and Swalwell. Turn left at min-roundabout and follow road for about 200 yards. Turn right at traffic lights, sign posted Whickham, up hill, stranight ahead at traffic lights at the top of the hill. The Gibside is now on the left hand side of the B6317, large stone built hotel. For Car park and reception, turn left at the Wine Cellar Off-License and follow road round to parking area at rear of hotel. The hotel reception is at the rear of the hotel.
