Sandgate Hotel Description It runs through the fresh thinking that shaped the informal comfort of our bars, or the distinctive, modern style of our bedrooms. It runs through the dining experience, where the service is precise but never fussy. It?s in the sea air on our terraces, and the ?can do? enthusiasm of our staff.
Welcome to the Sandgate Hotel, a place to celebrate all that?s finest about this sunniest corner of England, a place to feel refreshed.
The Sandgate Hotel was built specifically as a small hotel in the mid- 1800s. However now completely refurbished, there's little Victorian about our bedrooms, unless you count the original balconies at the front overlooking the sea. The rooms extend the sophisticated informality of our bars and dining room to our private spaces. All rooms offer carefully designed comfort and have fully modernised en-suite bathrooms and most rooms boast a panoramic sea view.

Situated in the desirable west end of Folkestone overlooking Trinity Gardens and the picturesque Trinity Church, we are only a brief stroll from the town centre and the Leas promenade, yet the Channel Tunnel and Dover ferries are only 10 or 15 minutes away by car, making it ideal for anyone en route to the continent.
Built in the 1890s as a gentleman's residence, this fine example of a Victorian house, updated and modernised over the years, still retains many original features.
Evening meals are available in our licenced restaurant, they are all cooked to order to suit your individual taste, therefore we would suggest pre booking to ensure that your selection can be met.
We also have a residents bar and private garden for the comfort and convenience of our guests.
We offer a warm welcome to all visitors, whether staying for a short break or looking for longer term residence, whilst working in the area.

Located on the Kent coast, Folkestone successfully blends its role as a port and popular seaside resort. You can take a day trip to France by Seacat or ferry from Dover, or on the Channel Tunnel with your car. There is plenty to see in this historic area, including the cities of Canterbury and Rochester, and the famous Dover Castle. Folkestone offers golf, horse racing and a wide range of sporting activities at the Folkestone Sports Centre as well as the new coastal park area and spectacular views of the Channel and Romney Marsh from the North Downs Way and Saxon Shore Way coastal paths.
While there is ample free parking outside the hotel we are not able to reserve or guarantee spaces to any particular guest. However, a little patience in this matter usually means success or a member of the family being able to move our own vehicle.
Guests should note that whilst the hotel has a lift, there are two steps to a landing then four steps to the entrance of the building. Whilst we have made every endeavour to make the property accessible to all, it is impossible to add a ramp within the health and safety regulations, sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
