Palace Hotel Description
...hotels. In 1928 it was in fact one of the founding members of the famous "Leading Hotels of the World" group that today more than ever includes the most prestigous establishments in the world.
It was Lord Byron who made Montreux famous in 1816. Charmed by its climate, way of life and the beauty of its surrounding, with Lake Geneva lapping at the Alpine foothills, the Englishman finds the inspiration to write "The Prisoner of Chillon" and the poem makes the region suddenly famous.
Two centuries later, Montreux had not lost any of its charm and Le Montreux Palace, its finest hotel, is a witness of this fact. The great hotel built on the lakeshore in 1906 does not just bear the towns name, it also reflects its spirit, which is a line balance between tradition and today's world.
