The EXCELSIOR HOTEL ERNST is situated by the cathedral square in the middle of the city centre of Cologne, at the famous address face to face with Cologne cathedral. It would be difficult to find an address on the Cologne map. However, the hotel is easy to get to.
Thanks to the central location of the hotel, 15 minutes from the airport and 200 metres away from the main train station, sights such as Cologne cathedral, the Philharmonie, the theatre, the Old Town, the Köln Arena, museums and the city centre as well as the exhibition centre are easily reachable on foot.
Arriving by train:
Leave Cologne main train station on the cathedral side. Then go straight on into the Trankgasse, with Cologne cathedral on your left hand side. After about 200m you reach the Excelsior Hotel Ernst on the right-hand side. We will gladly escort you with your luggage directly from the station platform to the hotel.
Arriving by car:
You have an excellent approach from the A1, A3, A4, A57 and A59 motorways. From the departure from the motorway, first follow the signs for 'Köln-Zentrum / Hauptbahnhof'. The Excelsior Hotel Ernst is situated directly at the Cologne Cathedral. Our valet will park your car in the video-monitored car park, and if required the valet will also drive it out again.
